Water Colour  Support

Last updated: 19 September 2026

Water Colour is a small iPhone app for noticing the colour of rivers. Point your camera at the water, and the app reads its colour, names it, finds the river you are standing beside, and keeps the moment in a journal. Every capture also tints a shared map of Britain's rivers.

Getting help

Email benjaminstrak@gmail.com and we will reply within a couple of days. Inside the app, Account → Share feedback sends a note straight to us.

Common questions

The app says "Find a river on the map". It could not match a named river within a short walk of where you are standing. Captures still save, filed under Unknown waters, and you can still see the colour and the photo.

Can I use it outside Great Britain? The river map covers Great Britain only. Elsewhere, captures save locally but are not shared.

How do I delete something? Open a capture and tap the bin to delete it. Account → Delete my captures removes everything you have made. Account → Delete my account removes everything and your sign-in.

How do I report a photo? Open the capture and tap Report this capture. You will not see it again, and we review every report within 24 hours.

Why does it want my location? To find the river you are beside and to place your capture on the map. Other people only ever see a rounded, approximate location, never your exact position.
