Water Colour Terms of Use
Last updated: 14 September 2026
1. What Water Colour is
Water Colour is a citizen-science app for recording the colour of rivers, operated by Ben Strak / Studio Strak ("we", "us"). Using it means agreeing to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
2. Your captures
You must own the photos you capture. They must be of real water outdoors. Do not photograph people in a way that identifies them, the inside of private property, or anything unlawful, offensive or misleading.
By capturing you allow us to show the photo, its colour and an approximate location to other users, and to use anonymised, aggregated data as the Privacy Policy describes.
3. Reporting and removal
Anyone can report a capture from its page. We review reports within 24 hours and remove anything that breaks these terms. We may hide content, limit uploads, or suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, without notice.
4. Your rights
You can delete any capture, all your captures, or your whole account from inside the app at any time.
5. No warranty
Water Colour is provided as-is. Colour readings are observations, not measurements; the app is not a water-quality, safety or pollution-detection service. Never rely on it for decisions about health or safety.
6. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do.
8. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
